I have been interested in designing cars only one problem i am not a designer at a car company yet. I love my design and i want to take the body off of a different car change its frame a bit then put a new fiberglass body on it. Sounds pretty awesome to me. Just will this car if i make it be street legal?

Most road rules are for safety so if you comply with them you are legal.But changing the frame may seriously weaken it, plus bumpers and side rails. There is an exception for manufacturers of less than 50 cars a year.This is basically a "kit car". The state has no interest in what your car looks like |

That would be up to you. Are you going to put all the necessary items into your design. You know all the required systems, like lights, brakes, windshield wipers, seat belts. Legality is a design issue, so design. |

Sure, they make kit cars. Just make sure you have all the safety devices in place. |

its a chassis that is registerd,the body isnt....simply build your body and fit it to an already,road registerd car/chassis. |

As long as you have the paperwork for both vehicles it will be legal so when you go to the dmv they will get you a correct vin for your newly designed vehicle.... |
