It most certainly CAN be dangerous. I call the non-emergency police number on my cell and tell them which mile marker they are at, and the license number and type of the car. People do in fact to that to put you in a compromising position, especially in an area that is lightly traveled. An accident is a different thing altogether, though. |

I have before...But I take into account a number of factors...
Where are we? In the city where he/she could easily walk to get help or in a more remote location. Who is travelling with me? I won't stop to help someone if I'm alone. There's safety in numbers. I'm a Marine, so if I see a Marine Corps sticker and the person looks like a Marine, I most likely would help. If I am carrying my gun with me I keep it at my side. I guess in the end it all depends. Trust the voice inside your head |

Yes it could be dangerous, but I have and continue to do it anyway. If I have my kids with me I usually call for help, but if I am alone, I will see if i can help them. |

havedone so but it would depend on where i was, time, and what the folk looked like, whether i was on my own etc.
like one time it was a couple dressed for a wedding or something, early afternoon and i stopped to make sure they could get their car to the side away from danger and that they could get help.
but another time i was on my own and it was a man on his own at night so i did not stop. |

It would be depending on the situation. I have pulled over to help and I would do it again but the situation must be just right. I drive a Pick-up and usualy carry tools and supplies. I always have highway flares 12v lighting and safety reflectors on board as well as a cell phone. If you can help someone why not? A quick evaluation of the roadside situation will keep you safe. Obviously 4 tattooed burly drunks with a flat tire are not going to want your help. A soccer Mom with 5 brats might fear your approach but I will stop and call the Highway Patrol for them without approaching and wait for the response car nearby. An accident scene is another matter. I would stop and put out flares and reflectors and help the victims if needed. A minor accident is another matter. The trick here is to again keep your distance and call HP. |

It all depends. Is it at night or day, am I alone? It can be dangerous, cause some people do fake car troubles. Sometimes I am paranoid about things like that. I'd be more likely to stop in the day. Also I would not be able to help mechanically, so about all I could do is call someone for them. |

Yes; I'll pull over... as I did many times...it's dangerous so, use as much precaution as possible... mechanically I can't help.... but U could help in many other ways.... |

i usually call 911 from my cell phone, it's a lot safer than stopping |

I would, but every car i've ever passed that was most likely broken down, the person was just sitting in the drivers seat, so I can only assume they didnt need help. If they had a flag set up i'd stop, or something to let me know they needed help, but i'd just look foolish if I went to check on someone, and they were just reading a map or something. |

I would, depending on what my heart tells me. If I sense uneasiness, i drive on. On the whole, if it a female or male, all alone, it is fine. Just make sure you can overpower them if the situation arise. Never know what you are expecting. |

but you never can tell. |

Just keep going. In this day and age with AAA and cell phones there's no reason they can't get help. |

its a shame that in the owrld we now live in, i would not even contemplate it. you could stop for a woman on her own and she has a guy hiding that could all of a sudden materialise from the back seat and nick your car or something, so i would say if they aint got rac, or the aa, or thier moible phone on them then tough!! there are plenty of emergency phones on the motorway !!! |
