at that moment i thot the light had turn green. so halfway in the intersection i realized it was red so i stopped in the middle and then it turned green couple of seconds later. will i get a ticket?

you never stop in the line of traffic, you could get hit. what you should have done was take your turn signal off and look to see if the light was green then go ahead. if there were no cameras and you did,nt get stopped you probably will be safe. |

Yes you can get a ticket. There are two ways to get a ticket in this fashion. The first is if there is a cop in the area and he saw you run the red light and stop in the intersection. I have heard of stories where a cop has pulled drivers over because they moved ahead of the stop line at the light. So if you accidentally run the light then you are still running the light and the police can ticket you if they see you. Secondly, if there are cameras at the intersection. If you move ahead of the stop line the camera will snap your license plate because you have violated the law by crossing that line. Now if neither of these cases are true then no, you won't get a ticket for it. In the future just be careful and be aware of your surroundings. |

if you havn't gotten a ticket, you won't. You only get a ticket if a police officer witnesses the infraction.
