I live at the end of a cul-de-sac my neighbours park in the turning area as it is in front of their garages even though it is part of the road, because of this cars use my or my other neighbours drives to turn round in, if there was no need for the turning area it would not have been put there when the road was built, so surely it should be kept clear so cars can use it for the purpose it was intended for.

If no parking sign not there, they can park if not blocking a drive... you can block your own drive if you wish. |

If there are no parking restrictions on the road then you can park anywhere you like, except, you cannot block a dropped kerb or driveway. |

Just to add, you CAN block a drive or a dropped kerb, if there is NOTHING parked on it. It is only illegal if a vehicle is blocked in. I also live at the end of a narrow cul-de-sac (roadway is only 17 feet wide) and have a number of cars. The most difficult to turn is a 40 year old Land Rover. Hence I reverse it in, right to the end, as that is where I live. Every other car goes half on the pavement, which is NOT illegal unless an obstruction is caused. i.e. a Postman's trolley or Fire Engine access. I have this information straight from the local Police just this week. Quite simply, block your drive with the dustbin when you go out.... or an old banger (like I do) |
