i had driver's ed: behind the wheel yesterday. i thougt it was really stupid how over cautious they taught us to be. whenever we see a kid, we have to slow down a lot, and also we have to 'scan' every intersection. we have to not drive alongside parked cars incase someone opens the door. oh and we have to come to a stop at railroads to make sure there aren't any trains coming when there obviously isnt.. i mean this stuff is all so necessary but now i am realising that it is probably a good thing to learn it the right way. how do i not be so negative and start being positive about driving.

By realizing that other people's lives can be jeopardized by you when you drive recklessly. Kids, they're unpredictable, you slow down because he might start chasing after a ball and if you're not driving slow you will hit him, scan every intersection? because if you don't you won't see that speeding corvette that you're about to hit, and trains, there are plenty of stupid people who have been hit by trains because they were not looking. You have to realize that the world is not about only you and you have to grow up. I think you have to rethink your complete approach to this, driving is a privilege not a right. If you have to do something that takes 1 second and save an innocent life due to your laziness, then do it. Grow up. |

Wind yer neck in! you appear to think you already know better than your instructors, there are many many millions of drivers on the roads who think they are better drivers than they actually are, hence loads of casualties, listen and try to put into practice what you are being taught, driving is an art form which you need to perfect over a lifetime, not a lunchtime, remember you are in control of a deadly weapon, which can, and will, kill you and/or those around you in a heartbeat. |
