Yes because they are breaking the law by speeding and they might go too fast where they can't handle their vehicle and might get into an accident or even kill someone. I don't think you should get a ticket based on how much money you make, that would be stupid and makes no sense at all. So many people speed and all they should get are the tickets that the Officer writes them up for by how fast they were going. I'll admit that I speed but I control my car and know what I'm doing and I have got a couple of tickets for it out of the 20+ times I have been pulled over for speeding but have not received 1 in 2 years. I'm 21 by the way and more aware of my surroundings and know where cops have their speed traps and know when to slow down when I see a cop.

Yes I believe they should. Speed limits are set for safety reasons, and they also factor in the ability of the human to respond at certain speeds. The faster you are going, the less response time. For example if it takes 30 seconds for your eyes to see the child darting out in the road and have your brain send the message to your foot to press the brake going 35 mph then 6/10 of a mile is required for the whole sequence to play out. If you do the same at 50 mph, 8/10 of a mile is required....so you it takes a longer distance at the higher speed with the same reaction time, possibly 2/10 of a mile could be the difference between that child's life or death. I feel drivers accept responsibility to follow the rules of the road when they obtain their licenses, and when they break those rules, they should accept the responsibility of the punishment that goes along with breaking those rules. People are often so wrapped up in their own circles, they forget to look at the big picture. Speeding leads to accidents, loss of life, damage to properties, both personal and otherwise, and numerous other mishaps that could have all been prevented! I hope this helps!!

Well if you don't fine them then what's the point of a speed limit? You have to punish them or remove the speed limits. If you want to remove the speed limits then you better justify going 60 in front of schools and in the cities.

Yes and I was reading an article that one county is trying to fine speeders according to how much they earn, so that's one way to put a dent in their wallet.
