Two questions:
1.) Should "dealing in infant children" be a felony?
2.) Should someone who has been convicted of attempting to steal an unborn child ever be released back into the public?

deplorable. absolutely deplorable.
hell, you can get more time for selling crack then selling babies and stabbing pregnant women.

It probably should be a felony, I think "dealing in infant children" is usually used when a mother willingly sells her baby though, or when someone buys a baby willingly (since it is illegal to sell children)
*not saying it shouldn't be a felony - but I think that is where they are charging her with it - for her claim that she bought a baby for $1000
Not quite the same situation - but did you see back around the 4th a woman was stabbed to death and her unborn baby (she was 8 1/2 months along) was cut out of her stomach? There are some sick people out there. |

Kidnapping is already a felony, so I'm confused about what is meant by "dealing in infants".
If "dealing in infants" is just a fancy way to say that money exchanged hands in an otherwise legal adoption - I'm not sure it should be a felony. Would it be a felony for all involved (biological parents, adoptive parents, and facilitator) or just the facilitator? I have a hard time calling this a felony, because I think that it has the potential to damage alot of people who may not have meant to be "dealing in infants". Suppose the adoptive parents pay the bilogical parents' living expenses "off the books" for a while. Obviously they "shouldn't" do this, but is it really Felony worthy? |
