I lived in a foster home for about two weeks when I was 17. A judge put me there as a punishment to show me how great my home was. Funny though I loved it there. The foster parents had 2 boys living there and one girl. I shared the room with the girl and I was allowed to hang out with the boys all day long. So I am pretty sure it would be OK. As long as it is not way crowded. |

depending on age, they only allow so many children to share a room. |

I am a foster parent as well and I have 3 girls of my own and I have one foster child and she stays in the room with my daughter. All they need is a certain amount of space and there own storage , like a dresser. They have you measure the room so they can determine if it is large enough for 2 people. |

As long as living conditions are adequate for the purpose of taking care of this child, then they can be foster parents. The rooming situation is handle by the parents at their discretion. There are no rules saying that a child has to have his own room. :) |

Where I live the child only needs a 5 x 5 space as a room (small isn't it) so to answer your question yes they can share rooms, just not beds. |

The state will do a home inspection and decide if the house will have room for the number of children.
In some states they just need to have a certain amount of Space in the room and as long as everyone has a bed and the boys and girls are seperated it is fine.... Many states have rules about HOW many children can be in one house...
For example in Oregon there can be no more then 8 children sleeping at the same house on any night counting Biological, Step, Half and foster children....
The State or County office will let the foster families know what the rules are in your state. |

Foster children can share with bio children in the home. This is common practice. There are rules as to gender and ages etc. In my home province of SK, there were at times 4 children per room. This was not due to the "greedy" foster parents, but to an overcrowded system where there are not enough foster homes. |

I think they should share, jus so it doesnt seem they're getting good attention, they are being treated the same as any other kid. :) |

No don't treat them special. It would be weirfd for the kid to be with the adoptive parents unless she was a little kid. Put her with the other girls. See how it goes and if she has a hard time work from there! |

i would think it would be share. |

I'm from New Mexico, a former social worker. The foster "child" (not "kid") can share a room with a foster sibling.
(Even tho' your parents have a three-bedroom home, that home might seem like a palace to a child who has come from very little. If I were you, I'd be offering more support and sense of pride to my parents for having such big, loving hearts that they'd offer space in their home to a child who needs a safe space to live and heal. They still love you and your siblings -- they just see a need and know they can help fill some of that.) |
