I'd go, providing your immune system is normal, no expected chemo, surgeries, or anything like that.
The normal flu kills about 36,000 people in the US every year. As a precaution, I'd use hand sanitizer, avoid public places without it, and wash your hands often. As an extra precaution, take an extra box of baby wipes to wipe hands and arms, but wash your face often first with them. Use the ones with alcohol and aloe, so it will kill germs, and be gentle to the skin.
Texas is a biggggg state, and the cases are limited. I think the news has made it more scary than what they should. For all the people who have this strain of the flu, most are recovering fine, Mexico's hospitals are seeing fewer patients, not more, and reasonable precautions should get you through. Take some masks, but I'd leave them in the back seat, just in case you see anyone acting nauseated, then I'd use them, and after use, throw them away, don't try to re-use them.
Good luck on everything-but go see that beautiful baby. He needs some stability here. |
