paternity was established,Dyfs is involved and are investigating Mom & Maternal Grandparents, in the mean time on Monday I had gone to the court to file for custody and then I get a phone call yesterday (wed.) from mom telling me that she is at the courthouse filing papers to stop my visitation so we have an emergency hearing,the judge denied her request and told her boyfriend that this is no concern of his to stay out of it and then told me that if I want custody then file and if I felt that there were concerns about my grandson,to call Dyfs,I told the judge that I did file on mon.and that DYFS was already involved.Mom was withholding test results for FAS( Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) and the judge told her to get a copy to me and she had a week to get it to her,and asked why didn't you give them the results when you were ordered ,moms answer was ...because I don't want to,judge said but you will and says I see what is going on here.So does anyone know what will happen when I go for the custody hearing or what to expect.she has been staying with the boyfriend in PA and told the judge that she couldn't find a job in NJ so that is why she was in PA but judge knows that we have been taking care of my grandson every other week since the adoption was interrupted.I don't know what to expect since we filed for custody,will judge get mad that were back in the courtroom again or will she then take our visitation away .I wish I could give more information,but hopefully I will get responses with what is here do to privacy of conversation but I think you get whats going on here.

If I understand you right, it sounds like the judge is just more irritated with her not anyone else. It's important to keep cool in the courtroom and present yourself as responsible and collected. It sounds like she will have trouble doing that. Stay honest, have your facts straight with detail so you can sound intelligent on the matter. |

Have your facts straight. Be prepared to answer any and all questions. It sounds like he is mad / irritated with Mom and not you...so I wouldn't worry about it. You will be ok...it's not as grueling as one might think, it's her on trial - not you! |
