I am not an adoptee, but have three internationally adopted children. Based on my conversations with them about this issue, I know that they would like to meet their birth families at least once. If I were adopted, I'm sure I would want to see them too. Unfortunately, it is not really possible for Chinese adoptees to find their birth parents. If this changes as my daughters get older, I will certainly do everything in my power to help them search, and go to China with them to support them in this endeavor. |

Yes. When you are adopted or in foster care, you always want to at least see your birth family no matter what they did to you. Ive never been adopted but I am in foster care. My parents rights were terminated and Ive tried everything I can to see or talk to them. And I think even if youve never met your parents you would want to. Your birth parents are your blood. They are a part of you, and that will never change. |
