Adoptees who have also relinquished?

From reading posts on here for a while, I've noticed that a few people have said they were adopted and then they themselves relinquished a baby. Given how many adoptees have really strong opinions about adoption, how were you able to make that decision if you knew firsthand what it's like to be adopted?

Just want to clarify, I'm not trying to stir up anything, but just curious is all.

I'm not qualified to answer this but reading your first answerer's post I have to say that maybe the adoptive parents had the mind set that got them their child to begin with. That of young girls have no business parenting, there for they must surrender. Possibly since they had experienced adoption once they felt it would be good for their adopted daughter, not ever realizing what it was like to be on the other end of an adoption. (children being located in the middle)

It chills me when I have received phone calls from adoptive parents whose adoptive daughters are expecting. These daughters usually are sent away to "make some couple happy."

The story goes like this: "WE were given a gift. Now our daughter will do the same. She will give the baby up. Another couple will be able to know the same joy."

They don't seem to feel any connection to the baby. They don't recognize the pain of the mother, either. They don't notice that the mother and baby have a bond to each other.

I made no choice when it comes to my son's adoption. I would never willingly give away my own flesh and blood let alone the ONLY person in the world who was actually related to me. Before my son I had never looked at anyone who looked like me. I was utterly and totally in love with him in every way possible. I would never have chosen to give him to anyone else to raise. He was taken by force, coercion and manipulation.

People attempted to coerce me into relinquishing a baby I was carrying many years ago before i was married.

There was nothing they could do or say that would make me ever do that for the reasons you've stated. Not EVER.

Forced adoption is another matter altogether ((((Andraya)))

Just a thought....but perhaps their adoption reality was a good one and wasn't the same as others who try force the image of negativity on ALL adoptees?

All this talk about reality being acknowleged and yet many here don't acknowledge other's who might have a different story.
