I bet the mother feels pretty miserable about the relinquishment. I would imagine it mirrors the same attitudes I hold about myself. Because honestly the same sort of bad thoughts about parenting *any* child when I am a mother who had to relinquish are there regardless of birth order. I get the same comments about how my relinquished son will feel knowing he had to be the child abandoned and given away while his sisters were worthy enough to be kept.

Adoption and relinquishment pain is awful.

I have an older sister, full blood, who was kept by my first mother. When I found out that I not only had a sister but she was kept, I felt different things seemingly each moment, jealousy, resentment, worthlessness, and many other things. She has her own set of issues in regards to it, and we are doing our best to get through it together.

I have an older brother who was old enough to remember when I became adopted out of the family, and I have a younger sister who was born BECAUSE of my adoption.

It's a pretty horrible feeling, thinking that your role was replaced.

I have 2 biological half siblings(older) on my fathers side, and a full younger sister.

i feel guilty to be honest. in the long run, my life is better then either my bio haf brother or little sister. My half brothers in and out of jail, and my sister had 4 kids before she was 24(all 6 years and under) did not finish school(didnt make it past the 6th grade).

I feel guilt, and hurt.

I have two older brothers, I was the youngest.. We were all three taken away at the same time adopted out together. Abused, then me and my oldest brother were readopted out to separate homes. My mom was able to keep my other younger brother who she was preg. with. Then from what I have been told she remarried and had a set of twins. How do I feel about that, well I don't remember the boys. I have pictures of the three of us when we were little. Sometimes I wonder about my oldest brother and wonder what kind of life he had. I met the middle brother once we really didn't hit it off well. Am I mad at my mom for losing us no. You would have to know the story to understand. I'm glad she was able to keep the baby she was carring. And I'm glad she was able to start her life over and have a family.

I had an older half brother. My BM was only 15 when she had me, and she'd just had my older brother the year before. Supposedly she had wanted to give him up for adoption too, but her family pressured her to keep him. They pressured her to keep me as well... but she went through with the adoption anyways. I would imagine that I had a pretty nice life compared to him... Our BM only had a 8th grade level education and worked at a diner. Who knows.... It's strange, but Im glad I was given up.
