Yes it's called special needs adoption and they handle all kinds of physical and mental challenges as well as chronic illensses. There are plenty of families that have what it takes to raise these kids but they are harder to place because most people want a "normal healthy baby".

Special needs adoption also includes sets of siblings, multiple birth babies...and single but older children because the older they are when adopted the more chance there are emotional issues.

Hi yes they do all you have to do is request a disabled child and children services will be happy to help you.

Good Luck and god bless
you.

You'd definitely have to have the right mindset for it, as bringing any child into your life would change it quite a bit and more so if that child had special needs, but there are some families who even adopt more than one child with special needs.

My father's cousin and her husband both worked with mentally disabled children and enjoyed their work so much that they adopted a girl who was mentally retarded. She is now in her forties and they have done a fantastic job raising her.
