i am considering adopting a child.i am irish, i would like to adopt an irish child, or any other nationality. i have tried google'ing the details and agencies but cannot find any....any ideas how i would go about it.?

also is it difficult, hhow long would you have to wait to get your child? any age limit, ( i am in my 50s)

any help would be greatly appreciated

As you are in your 50's, your age would exclude you from most (if not all) private and international adoption programs. I believe the only viable avenue would be through foster care. I suggest you contact your local children's authority and they will give you details regarding the options that are available to you.

You contact your local authority.

They would most likely place a child in a home where the parents were going to be around at least until the child turns 18, I think the upper age limit is 40
