Adoption Pain?

I have just started my search for my birth mother......Does anyone have any ideas on where to start or how to go about this?? I am stressing about it all......I want to find her and know about where I come from but have no idea how to do this.....I am so scared and feel weird about it all.....how should I feel??

I dont actually know the agency that adopted me out - i am guessing it was just through the deptartment at the time. I have found my foster mother and she has said that she got a call to pick me up from the hospital. I do have my birh mothers name Lee Anne Maragret O'Connor and her birthday was September 1960 something I think from memory.......She was around 24 or so when I was born in 1985

I can't tell you how to feel and I don't think anyone can.
Start with the adoption agency, sometimes they will release records after a certain number of years. I know it's hard but it might be best not to expect alot. Your adoptive family picked you. You weren't born to them by chance, they chose you and obviously love you a great deal. You will need their support to get through this.

i know how ur fealin i was also adopted but mine was closed so i cant get any info without payin then theres a chance they might not want to meet me! The best i could tell you is do searchs on the inter net like ur doin now go to differnt adoption chat rooms and put the info out there and hopefully shell b lookin for you or someone knows her. what i did was went to the courthouse in the county where i was adopted, to the birth/death certificiate dept. i registered there for the adoption registry. what that does is put you in the data base and if you birth family registered then they match you up.
i live in michigan, here there is a number at the top of your birth cert. that number is attached to you, the copy you have will match the copy on the original, the one your birthmother signed. they just dug into the archives and found the number and put us together.

i dont know how this works from state to state, so i hope this at least gives you a starting point.

as for feeling weird, well , it comes with the territory. maybe you need to wait a little while, you may not be ready. i was totally hyped up about it. i couldnt wait to get hold of her. she had moved away when i found out her name, so i ended up having to do some digging on my own to find her. but it was worth it.

I had a hard life and lost my children.All I could do is send my name and address to this place www.GA.-Adoption Reunion.com.DFACS said when my children turn 18 this place will give them my address.I miss them every day.I can only trust God(Jesus) that He will bring them back to me as soon as possible.Find your mom at least, she needs you.Don't worry about how you feel,it's natural for you to feel strange.Those feelings will be replaced with good ones.

I'm sorry that you're in this difficult situation.

How much information do you have? Sometimes if you go to the agency that adopted you out, they can give you some information, and sometimes they can't. If you have a name, birthdate, a city, something like that, you could look through public records.
