Be very aware.
A heap of child trafficking has been going on from India - all for money.
Google Australia and Indian adoptions - as it's been in the news recently here - many children have been found to have been adopted to Australia - and they were stolen from their family in India - and the adoptive family had no clue.
Be very very aware.
Besides - there are thousands of children in foster care - waiting to be adopted and have loving homes.
Why take a child out of their own country and culture - just to fill an adult need????

As usual some people think their world is AMERICA OR AUSTRALIA OR WHEREEVER THEY BELONG TO. Geesh this users name is Indian - Rachna !!! Maybe you could tell the procedure how an Indian will foster an nAmerican child?
Also child trafficing............i want to laugh. 400 odd kids left the Country last year and some 300 in 2006. Compare to thousands in China, Russia , Guatamala and other countries. Obviously a few bad cases will be highlighted by the smart ones till the deaths day. |

We did some volunteer work and eventually adopted through Missionaries of Charity when we lived in Delhi. We also did some volunteer work at one run by the Church of North India as well.
ETA: Why does everyone assume this person is in the US, Canada, UK or Australia even. The world does not revolve around the West and it's possible, just ever so slightly, that they may be East Indian themselves asking about adoption in their own country. Wouldn't that be weird eh? |
