Adoption for young couple?

My fiance has a condition to where she cannot have a child of her own. So we were talking about adoption. We are both 24 with a stable life and job. I make very good money and money is not an issue. I have no clue where to start as to where to find a very secure adoption center. I want to find a legit, legal, maybe even Federal mandated adoption center, so if anyone has ever done the process maybe you could just point me in the right direction.

If you are in the US, there is not a federal adoption center; adoption is a state matter, with the laws varying depending upon where you live.

You ask about legit legal agencies. If you are thinking about pre-birth infant matching from an agency or international adoption, though legal, they all have serious ethical concerns, especially those with religious affiliations. Your best ethical bet is to look into your state's foster-to-adopt program. That's where all the children are who really need homes. You will find it listed under your state's Dept of Children & Family Services or in some states it it called Human Services. Your costs will be minimal or free.

you got a couple good answers already but I want to add, most states have laws that you must be married for a year or two or longer before you can adopt. They won't let 2 single people adopt. You could foster parent though to start. Contrary to some beliefs, not all foster kids come with alot of "baggage".

I would recommend checking into the states foster care system. You DON'T have to be a foster parent to adopt from it. It's government mandated and most states accept couples or singles 21 and older (and it's free or at least next to free).

I think its a wonderful thing that you want to adopt a child. You probably should get married first, you will probably have a better chance at adopting a child after you get married. And like others have said, I also believe in most states that you have to be 25.
But you should check into your state laws and consider all your options. You may also want to consider foster to adopt. But either way, you are doing a wonderful thing.
