Adoption/fostering/kinshi... question I'm very nervious!!!?

I have to get a Kinship Background Screening done on myself, my partner, and another person over 18 in my household. My problem is that six years ago I got four Illegal consumption tickets, my partner has got one since the age of 18. Last but not least the person living w/me over 18 has had 12 phone harassment charges(@ a year ago) and most recently a DUI. Now I know your probably thinking- We are just a bunch of alcoholics but that is not the case AT ALL!! That was a long time ago for my partner and I and we now have a family of our own. We now know what life is truly about!!!!! As for the other adult they are hardly ever here and they are currenlty in AA I'm just conserned DCFS is not going to let us help this poor child (A relitive) Can anyone give us any input to help us at all???
Additional Details
My spouse and I don't have any DUI's. As for the person who lives with us the phone harassment is from a crazy ex trying get them put in jail!-It didn't work.

You want honesty??

4 dui's in the last six years for you, 1 for your spouse in their history... AND 12 phone harrassment charges, and yet another DUI in the house.....

Kinda sounds like they'd be moving those kids from the frying pan into the fire if they were to place them with you.

Six years ago isn't very long.. and neither is 1 year ago. Certainly not enough to show that an adult living in your house wouldn't put those children into a car while intoxicated.....

12 charges of anything is alot.... and phone harrassment also kinda says there's some sort of mental health issues.

Sorry I call 'em as I see 'em

I'm sorry to tell you this (and sorry to be so harsh), but DUIs and underage drinking - particularly so many, and particularly within the last 10 years - will be a big problem. DUIs and underage drinking convictions are judged very harshly when you are talking about a homestudy or background check for adoption - and six years would be considered recent. It almost certainly means you will be denied. Did you disclose this to the social worker in advance? Discuss it with them before they find out about in your background check.

wow. Is there someone else in your family with a less colorful past who can help this child? I don't think you're going to be approved. sorry.

mom of many
doesn't sound good but also, a kinship background check isn't as strict as a foster care or adoption background check.
