Adoption is a way of bringing children who need families. do u think they should be restriction on who is allo?

not everyone deserves to have the experience of raising a child. should a child molester be able to adopt a child? same with the invetro, not everyone should be able to get pregnant through invetro. for example the octo mom. there should definitely be a restriction on who adopts. they need to be interviewed and have background checks done and everything.

Are you asking if we think it is ok for druggies, alcoholics, pedophiles, rapist, murders, and abusive people to adopt. I say Hell No! Lets keep it to people that know how to budget and aren't drowning in debt, people in stable marriages, people that have the child's best interest in mind. Parenting is not a right but a privilege.

ETA: For gay couples the same as the above. I could careless if a couple is gay or straight. I have a problem with people with hidden agendas. Coercive people.

NO NOT EVERYONE DESERVES CHILDREN. I am adopted and was abused in every way possible. I mean locked in closets, locked out of the house..."visited" by my mother's b/fs. I hate the idea of adoption. I wish I could have lived with my real mother. I have scars emotional and physical from my adoptive parents and then their new families after they divorced. This was many years ago and hopefully the way they decide is much more deep. I don't care if you're gay or straight. If you been blessed enough to allow a child in your life then take care of it properly. I can't tell you how many problems I have now as an adult because of the abuse I suffered as a child.

Not everyone deserves the experience of raising a child. Having children is not a right, it is an honour and priviledge. I had to decide, long ago, that it would be okay if I never was a parent. It would hurt, but I would continue to foster, and help chlidren in any way i can.

Then lo and behold three fab. children came into my life, but I was ready for no children if that is the way it ended up.

As for restriction, I don't think it is the type of person I woudl restrict, but the type of adoption, get rid of private adoption and have them all state assisted. Get rid of pre-birth matching, and brokers.

They are restrictive on who can adopt children. It's very complicated and involved. You sound as if you are airing a personal issue instead of asking an objective question.

i think people such as known, proven, child molesters shouldn't be able to adopt children but i think anyone who is proven safe should be able to have a child if they want one and someone is willing to give their child up because of age or other problems :)
