Adoption of children?

after my brother passed away left 2 kids with a jobless wife , who used the pension left by his husband for her own personal used ( good time ) and I am the one supporting the kids. Can I file an adoption papers since the mother is iresponssible for her duties and obligations

they live with us , and I am the one paying for their electrical, telephone , water bill. I even hire a maid to wash their clothes

I can tell you, it's very hard to have custody removed from a mother. And if the state were to intervene because they were not being cared for, they would be made a ward of the state and first placed into the foster care system. Not simply adopted out to a relative . A lot harder that what you think.

It would be difficult. She would need to sign over parental rights in order for you to even start the adoption process.
If you are truly concerned about the children, you can contact CPS but that is a messy area you must be 100% sure that want to enter. They can get nasty and will often take the kids and put them in a foster home, THEN decide on their living options. You could speak with a lawyer, and ask them about your rights, since you are financially supporting them.
If you decide to contact CPS be sure to provide them information on where the money is going, how they aren't being taken care of and how you're supporting them (it will be important to provide proof and/or witnesses) tell them of your interest in adopting the children and why.
It will be a fight but its not impossible. If its the best for the children, the judge/CPS will see that....

Ask her to sign adoption papers, then it could be relatively easy. Also, since you are financially responsible, you might be able to claim them as tax deductions.

Get her to sign a Power Of Attorney form, all the rights of the kids will be yours.

nope she owns them but you can bring it in to court to see who gets to keep the child and see who wins the case present a good argument cus its gonna be tough!
