Hi, we are currently thinking about adopting, we have been told that crb checks will have to be done, i totally agree with that, however social services will have to be contacted in the previous places we have lived, again we have no problem with that either, but what i want to know is what are they checking for as i would assume that the crb checks would of covered everything? thanks.

as well as the crb they also asked what kind of poeple you are thats why they ask again they are giving you someone to love and care for dont take it to heart |

CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check on any past criminal background or suspicions surrounding the individuals checked. Social Services may have non-criminal related material which they hold which may be relevant to the adoption. It could also include information regarding the wider family which may not come out in the CRB checks. Best of luck to you. |

They are not really that invasive. They check whether you have a criminal/police record.
Good luck with the adoption process. Hope you are successful as it process is now long and drawn out. |
