Adult Adoptees: Did you adoptive parents stay together?

Mine split when I was a teenager.

Mine divorced when I was seven, after they had three bio-kids.

Mine split when I was very young, 3rd grade-ish.

Yes they did. Well, until my Dad died when I was a teenager anyway - that wasn't a good experience. It's bad enough losing your family to begin with so losing a parent again kind of exacerbates the effect kwim

Mine stayed together until my dad died last year at age 71, not long after their 49th wedding anniversary.

OTOH, I divorced after 9 years of marriage, and my a'bro has never married.

Katie D
Mine divorced when I was a teenager as well. If you look at the statistics of divorce about 50% of marriages end in divorce anyways, so it probably has nothing to do with being adopted.

together till my adad died in 91.

mine split about 2 years ago :)

Sorry I can't answer your question as I'm not an adoptee. I just had an observation . . .albeit this is an incredibly small sample size, it is looking from these answers as if the percentage of adoptive parents who divorce is about the same as the divorce rates in the general population. Anyone have statistics?
