Can you please give me a list of some worldwide countries and the age one needs to be to adopt a child? Thank you, I do choose best answers.
I'm 24 and have visited lots of countries. It kills me to see all of the poor kids who don't have families. Don't tell me I'm too young or something, I'm just curious.

In most countries you must be at least 25, though many countries prefer older people-30-45 year olds, married. The cost is outrageous.
If you want to adopt, why not go through foster care in this country? It is nearly free, and the children are in just as much need of a family. Further, there are many ethical problems with adopting overseas....one being that removing a child from his/her homeland, culture, and everyone that looks like him/her is not in the 'best interests' of that child. Just a suggestion.

I can tell you about India only.
Single women are permitted case-by-case, if they are between the ages of 30-45. Couples must be at least 30 years of age to adopt from India and no older than 55, however there is a requirement of a combined age difference of the parents and the child which is 90. Also, there must be no more than 45 years of an age difference between older parent and child. Couples must be married for 5 years, and must have no more than a total of 2 divorces. |
