I dont think so, there are many agencys for domestic and many countries that will accepts a single mother, you just have to be able to prove that acceptable supervision, along with parental and financial support can be provided. |

it is actually. but not that much. you just have to prove to them that you are a stable person and that your life is stable and that you are a clean person. that you would have time for a child, you would be able to care for them. you would have time for them and yourself. your home has to be suitable. that is about it. as long as you are a steady person and are drug free and have a good/clean background. you should be fine. good luck! |

No, it's not true. There are many avenues of adoption open to single parents, including US domestic, overseas adoptions or US foster care adoptions. (assuming you're American, of course!) Research everything very thoroughly in order to make an informed choice.
Good luck! |

Actually parents who adopt from CPS/Foster Care are mostly single. (Or at least when I worked there -- I think nearly ALL of the adoptive parents that I knew were single.)
So no, it is not true that it is hard for a single person to adopt.
You could also adopt internationally from some countries.
If you want to adopt a child as young as possible from foster care - you will need to become a foster parent first - request to be a legal risk home, meaning you might adopt the child if parental rights are terminated -- you can request to have only babies or young toddlers.
There is a single woman at my church who started fostering her daughter when she was just 3 days old and adopted her - she is now 6. |
