Any one here that didn't know you had a sibling that was relinquished for adoption?

yep. my mom had a baby girl before she met my dad that she gave away.
she never told me. my dad told me when i was pregnant at 20, and said please don't mention it to mom.
i was/am resentful because she didn't know that i knew and kept saying "oh my 1st pregnancy w/ you..." this and that and i knew she was BS'ing but i didn't tell her i knew she was lying because i didn't want to upset her like my dad said it would.
i bet my mom feels really bad because when i was a kid i always said i wished i had a sister *sigh* but my parents and i aren't close at all anymore though.

Yes I was told by my dad that I have a brother out there somewhere. Me and my half brothers and half sisters are desperately searching for him since my mom don't want us looking for him so she wont give us any information about him at all. All she told me is that he was in Todd Children's hospital and then adopted out.

My fiance (aka my husband in my heart), found out 5 years ago that he had a brother. Both of them were unsure how their moms were dealing with the situation, and both waited to reunite.

The other brother's Mama died last year. He loved her dearly, and respected the fact that she was afraid of him having a relationship with his first mom. My fiance just didn't know what to expect, and after reading many questions and answers here, decided to call him. The brother had called their mother is how they found out who and where he was. Their father had not only known about the placement, but had been instrumental in finding adoptive parents.

This father's day, my "J" called his brother, and just 2 weekends ago, they met for the first time (ages 48 and 44). It has been a great reunion in personal finally, and the 2 talk on the phone a lot both before and after meeting.

Of the 3 younger siblings, the oldest brother has chosen to not reunite, the middle sister has met the brother, and of course "J" is the youngest of all of them. The sister is glad they reunited too, and was the first to meet the placed brother, and they also e-mail a lot.

The one placed was glad for it. He feels he had a better life, and was very happy as a child.

i just found out there are two others my mother gave away. so that makes a total of 17 siblings for me.

I grew up thinking my father was a man my mother divorced. I had no siblings. I found out later she gave birth to me and my biological father knew it but would not accept responsibility. I know who he is, I even arranged a meeting with him. I have 3 or 4 siblings that don't know I exsist, he will not tell them, and his wife will not allow him to. I have not spoke to him since that one meeting. As a single child I would love to know my half sisters and brothers, what di I do? I am in my 60's my mother is deceased. I wonder how to tell them if I could find them.
