It has it all: Utah, polygamy, LDS, desperate PAPs love bombing a potential "birthmother."

ETA: Sara just graduated high school and discovers she's pregnant. She hasn't told the father and is planning to go to college out of state so she can give the baby up without anyone knowing.
She finally confides in her brother and her best friend and they all go to visit a PAPs home (found via LDS social services/adoption agency). They show a clip of the couple on a blog talking about how much they LOVE the mother (any potential b-mother, that is) for considering adoption. But when she meets them in person she learns the potential adoptive mother is OCD and the husband is gay.
At the end of the last episode she admitted to her friend that what she really wants is to keep the baby. They start brainstorming ways they can both go to the same school and share babysitting and parenting duties. I think the story line so far is pretty honest about how a young mother in a desperate situation feels, and how happy she is to get support from her friend to keep her baby.

Yes the LDS family loves the mother until the family bonding committment ceremony and then she is out and LDS spends millions to keep birth records closed! |

Yeah, I was laughing my a$$ off. I don't think that PAPs are that brutally honest...lol.

i i cant watch tvs version of adoption, its so far off most of the time even i roll my eyes.
ETA:wow thats actually somewhat realitic for once. Sorry if i was haesh, i just watched Juno all the way through for the first time in a while, and that movie just bugged me. |

Yes, and I like it. It showed the desperation of SOME potential adoptive parents. I really like how her and her best friend are figuring out how to raise it themselves. I almost gagged though when her brother said "why not give it to mom and dad". |

Yeah. Its one of my favorite TV shows. Im not happy they brought a potential adoption story into it. TV is usually the only time "Im not adopted"...I hate tv shows depicting adoption, it's usually very rainbow farty and very triggering for me.
Im hoping she has an abortion. |

You know Big Love is a TV show and isn't anything like Utah, LDS, ect?
It is a fun show to watch, but just making sure you know it isn't reality. LDS don't practice Polygamy. |
