I don't know of any attorneys in Floriday personally - however if you go to www.adoptionattorneys.org you will find an attorney who specializes in adoption.

Good luck.

How soon are the parents getting out? I don't know the laws on prison-related parenting issues, but I know that if I got stuck in prison I would want my daughter back the second I got out... if they committed some minor offense that did no harm to another human, like money-related offenses, they should be entitled to get their kids back. If they are in jail on assault charges or armed robbery, then it is probably for the best that you do adopt them. You will have to call around from the phone book. Attorneys are sorted by specialty.

Don't rush into adopting as that is only a self serving purpose. Just be there for the child and do a human act for the parents. The parents and child need to know each other and should be supported. Let the family be intact and you be the helper in the whole scenario.

Don't know of a good attorney, but realize that relatives of the parents can obtain custody of the child, while they may not have been able to get them out of foster care earlier. If you are a relative, your chances are very good to adopt.

The child should be in foster care. Are you his foster parents?

You should contact protective services for information. Depending on his parents' sentences they may handle it for you...and they won't charge you $700 an hour.

Also, if the parents are willing to sign over their rights you don't need to make some attorney rich.

It all depends.
