Anyone know of a Greek adoption center?

Im planning on giving my baby up for adoption. I've been looking at families and i have yet to find one that i really like. I'm Greek and i think it'd be really nice to have my child raised with a Greek family like i was. So if anyone knows anything please let me know

This isn't exactly an answer to your question, but you might want to key in on those areas having large Greek communities. If you find the local adoption agencies and review the parent profiles you may find potential adoptive parents who look interesting.
1. Los Angeles a city with about 10-13 million people
has a Greek community of about 70,000 people.
2. There are about 15,000 Greeks in the Houston
area. The Greek consulate estimates the total
Greek population of Texas and Oklahoma to be
about 50,000 people.
3. Boston estimates its Greek community at 60,000
(total estimate for New England area is 250,000)
4. New York City area has many Greek communities
– about 450,000!!
5. The Illinois State Census lists 435,000 of Greek
descent.
6. Atlanta has a Greek community of about 20,000.
7. New Orleans, Louisiana has a Greek community
of about 12,000 descended from the island of
Chios.
8. San Francisco, California (population 6.5 million)
reports about 50,000 in the Greek community.
9. Tarpon Springs, Florida, has a famous Greektown
that makes up one-third of the city's population
(25,000). |

Im greek too. Now I dont know about any greek adoption centers but being greek part of that is hard core church as im sure your aware. Id suggest talking to your priest, checking out different options there. Im sure Father would have a couple of ideas. Even asking some of the other parishioners there, in a greek church obviously everyone knows everyone, everyone is everyone elses godparents, and some how some way related, works with them, its kinda weird if you think about it lol. Im sure in your church someone is looking to adopt and if they arent im sure they either know someone or would have some ideas. Maybe even your Father and Presbeta (sp?) would be willing to adopt. All of mine have huge families and are very open and stuff. Good luck!! |
