It depends on what state you live in and where you plan to adopt from (what country). I know as far as adopting in the US usually 21 years of age is appropriate. Also there are some guidelines they go by as far as if you are married or not, how long, etc. You will be evaluated on an individual basis. I do know that adopting from other countries can have more stricter guidelines. For some countries you have to be married and for a certain amount of time, some require you be at least 30 years old, certain income, etc. However if you are going to do private adoption in the us you just need to follow the state laws and hope that the natural parent(s) agree with your way of life.
Best wishes!!! |

You have to be married (although you can of course be single). Common law counts as married in many areas as well. If you are living with someone and not married or common law it may be an issue against you in many areas too.
Other then that, they are more concerned with the stability of your relationship then any age difference. It can happen as young as 18 in most areas but I've never seen anyone younger then 22 adopt and I've seen someone as old as 63 year old adopt. |

depends on where you live. I know in the state I live in, you have to be at least 21 years old. You will be evaluated and make sure you can provide for a child and stuff and you don't have to be married. Although, some agencies might require you to be. |

theres really no age qualifications, but you most likely will be evaluated.Like your relationship, possibly home life.dont be afraid to call an agency and meet with some one to answer a few questions. |
