Best way to find adoption mother?

The free services are very nice and I wish you luck with them.

If they do not work out, you might end up hiring an private investigator. Of course the fees vary, but a good investigator should be able to find your birth mom in short order.

A colleague did a missing person's search in New Orleans and used a P.I. named Ed Prevost and really liked the service.

Good luck - and also you need to ask yourself if you really are in a strong enough position to meet with your bio parent[s] - my sister and I did this in our 20s and it was not a good experience for either of us.

People just love to tell searching adoptees negative horror stories, don't they? (answer above me). Don't let them deter you from your search

I found my own Mom in March and she welcomed me with open arms. She was very relieved to hear from me and we are very happy.

Possum has given you some excellent links for searching, use them and don't give up - it took me 20 years because of sealed records but we are together again nonetheless.

Good advice above, especially Possum's list.

It can sometimes be a frustrating process using free sites. Just be patient. If you are not patient, and can afford it, I might recommend hiring a searcher. Reputable adoption sites can recommend one for you.

My son looked for me for six years. He hired a searcher, and she found me in a month.

Free public Record search for the state, city, or county or all three. When filling in the name sometimes put full first name and the first couple letters of the last just in case you are not spelling it right.

its great that ur trying to find her...the best way would be to contact local adoption centers in new orleans and see what they can do to help....or she might be listed in the yellow pages online....if you can find the non emergency number of the new orleans police, i heard somewhere that they sometimes help people find loved ones...best of luck

My daughter was put up for adoption when she was born. She went to find her mother. When she found her, the woman wouldn't let her in the house, nor would she talk to her. Somethings don't work out like you dream. Beware of what you hope for.
