Best way to search for 35 yr old "relinquish"- ee"?

hi to all. this is a very personal and often painful subject......thanks to everyone for thoughtful, honest answers.
i recently discovered a bit of "new" info re: a [forced] adoption of a baby girl born to my 'first love' (yeah, it's true, ya never forget!), that might help me to find the 'baby'.
anyway, she would now be 35 years old, and i want to at least make myself available to her, if she should choose to look for B-parents. most of the website suggestions i have found require money, and offer no guarantee of finding pertinent information.
does anyone have any "solid" suggestions of how i might proceed/succeed?

Oh, my. I am sorry for your loss.Your first step is to try and get as much info about the birth as possible. Im guessing you are her father?
Try and get the birth date, hospital name, doctor name, agency name and or lawyer's name if it was a private adoption. It is also helpful if you have the mother's name and date of birth.
She may be looking for you, too, so google her birthdate, make a MySpace & Facebook page with her birthdate info & register on classmates.com, too. ALWAYS keep a current email addy for any sites you register with.

Many States and Provinces (assuming you are in North America) offer adoption registries where parties can register in the event that the other party wishes to make contact. These are generally State or Province run and IF there is a fee it's generally very small (like +/- $50). It should be done in the State where she would have been born/adopted however in order to maximize your chances. I don't believe there is a national registry of a similar type.
