Books about adoption for a 14 year old?

My son contacted his other Mom last fall and she does not want contact with him.
I was wondering if anyone can suggest some books that might help him with this. Maybe something on how First mothers feel? Understanding mental illness?
I am at a loss on how to help him with this. He is refusing to speak to his therapist. He loves to read though so I thought I could get him a couple books that might make it easier to understand.

Have you talked to her? Is she really mentally ill? A little from her would go a l-o-n-g way.
The books are really aimed at adults.
You might want another therapist. I think Nancy Verrier, Betty Jean Lifton, and Joe Soll all do counseling by phone.
Also, Mr. Soll (adoptee and counselor) does free nightly chats on his web site.

dear friend, I empathize with you're situation and are in regret that the birth mother does not want contact with your son. She is truly missing out on being part of the life of a great young man. If this situation a rose with my birth mother I would want to be reinforced by others and additional sources such as from a book that it's her loss. I recommend these two books for you're son, i trust they will help him cope with this confusing sittuation. The third book i think you should flip through when you have the time. Try to see if you can rent one of these two from you're local library, or better yet, find a reasonably priced one.
the first, is Adopted Teens Only: A Survival Guide to Adolescence
the second is called Adopted: The Ultimate Teen Guide (It Happened to Me (the Ultimate Teen Guide) by Suzanne Buckingham Slade
the third book is one that you might enjoy reading on this subject . It's called Creating Ceremonies: Innovative Ways to Meet Adoption Challenges. it has 5 star ratings on Amazon.com and I personally have read this book as well and can confirm that it is truly a imperitve resource for issues such as these that you are experiencing.
