Can anyone give me a link that will tell me more about the underground?

Can anyone give me a link that will tell me more about the underground?

...in international adoptees who don't work out within one family, and rather than return to the agency they are traded in an adoption underground. I am trying to find a link for more information about it.

If I were being sarcastic, it would have been better than this. I don't have any problem with sarcasm, but I have a huge problem with this. Have you read the responses here? This is not somethng I have made up.

I am also extremely familiar with the agency you listed, as they were the agency that stole Baby Evelyn from Stephanie Bennett and her family. The heads of the agency, Jennifer Mirando and her sister, Chrissy Kolarik were banned from doing adoptions due to an investigation into their shoddy practices. This is hardly a stellar agency to be held up as an expample.

They are usually private yahoo email groups that do this. I have seen their descriptions. Its enough to make a person's skin crawl.

Dear Sly,

I think you will be hard-pressed to find solid evidence via open internet. I tried searching several different ways on several different engines and this was what I could find:

"Disruption

Main article: Disruption (adoption)

Disruption is the term most commonly used for ending an adoption. While technically an adoption is disrupted only when it is abandoned by the adopting parent or parents before it is legally completed (an adoption that is reversed after that point is instead referred to in the law as having been dissolved), in practice the term is used for all adoptions that are ended (more recently, among families disrupting, the euphemism "re-homing" has become current). It is usually initiated by the parents via a court petition, much like a divorce, to which it is analogous.

While rarely discussed in public, even within the adoption community, the practice has become far more widespread in recent years, especially among those parents who have adopted from Eastern European countries, particularly Russia and Romania, where some children have suffered far more from their institutionalization than their parents were led to believe. Aside from how horrible this must be emotionally for these children, the scary thing is this is totally unregulated and these kids have no one to ensure that they are being "re-homed" to responsible people.

I think to get any "hard" evidence or information about this topic, you would need to do some undercover re-con! LOL!

I was trying to do some research on this as well. I heard about this "underground" after raising holy heck on another forum regarding a net posting that read "14 year old Liberian boy needs re-homing".

I couldn't find out a lot of specifics, but from what I gathered, there are internet groups (dunno if it's Yahoo or other) for this sort of thing. It's all pretty locked down from the general net public (or so I heard).

That specific posting had been on such a group, then another member re-posted it someplace else, where it was found by a member on the forum I was on. I couldn't track down the source and it was pulled almost immediately afterward.

I do feel for parents that find themselves in an impossible position, I really do. But net ads like that just isn't the way to go about getting help.

I've never heard of "the underground". What exactly do you mean? I'm gathering that it has something to do with adoption disruptions. Do you mean there are people "trading" their adopted kids illegally?

This made me sick:

http://www.adoos.ca/search?province_id=NU&section_id=5&busqueda=2

Children listed on the same page as puppies for sale??? WTF?? What kind of world are we living in?

I will take the bait and answer your obviously very sarcastic question. I guess you are talking about adoption disruptions? There really isn't an "underground". But there is an agency I know of that works hard to help these children find permanent families rather than these children having to go into the foster care system. I will put the link below, in case there is anyone who really is interested in helping these children.
