I think I may adopt when i get older(I'm still to young right now)
However,I was wondering what the whole process is like, and if you have to be a certain age or have to be married and all that.
Thank you in advance

Hello,
Adoption is a wonderful way to start a family and give a child a home. Child Protective Services in your area does do adoptions and going through CPS also is a great way to give a child a forever home who if not would be in foster care. There are many different ways to explain adoption so you would be better off contacting CPS and asking them to send literature on starting the adoption process, if you are under the age of 18 then you can let them know you are researching the process.
To adopt you would need to be able to financially support yourself and the child. You would need a stable home and be willing to work with licensing as they will have to ensure your living quarters are up to state standards. Yes adoption can be a heart wrenching experience but in the long run it is worth it.
Good luck! |

The only way you will be able to adopt is through the foster care system.
Agency and lawyer assisted adoptions will be extinct by the time you are old enough.
Man that's got a nice ring to it.
No seriously there are diferent types of adoptions, yes there are age limits, marriage is not neccessarily a factor, and you have a great responsibility to any child you adopt to see to it that they have connection to their information. Google adoption, foster care, and opened adoption to get some info under you.
Foster care "IS" the best way to adopt. I hope you check into it. |
