Can u help me please?

my sister's baby is being released from the hospital today the baby should be coming home to my mother's home but they say that there's already too many children there being that my mom has her three other children.do you think they will let her take the baby if she let's them know that she is willing to move to a bigger space. i would take custody of the baby myself me and my husband have a huge house but ou have to be at least 21 years of age which i am not

it was planned ahead my sister is an unfit mother and she doesnt have custody of any of her children
they held they baby for like a month
she had her live in boyfriend pretend to be the father of the baby and since he signed the birth certificate we had to wait for him to be dinied custody before we could be considered

Custody of the child is with your sister - as it should be. Why should she have it adopted by anyone else just because her present home is cramped? That doesn't make sense. If you would like her and the baby to move in with you and she's happy about it too - then that should solve the problem.

I think we might need more details. Where are you from, who is telling you this, and how do people at the hospital know how many children are at the house??? Is there some health concern for your sisters baby? Why would you have to take custody, can't your sister AND her baby come to stay with you? It sounds like we havent gotten the whole story here. I have never heard anything like this before.

there is no law stating how mant kids u may have in a house i mean come on and if u feel ready to raise a child then by all means but remember ur stil very young urself and it is a big responsability raising another human being good luck

Since when does someone tell you how many children you're allowed to have in a house? I don't get it.
Further.. sounds like a lot of mistakes being made here. Why is your sister pregnant with no place to keep the baby? This should have been planned well in advance.

although your sister should stop having all these kids she cant take care of her self and actually take care of them her self. your mom should be able to take them i don't see why they wont let her if shes taking care of them properly but yes i think they will let her take them if she moves to a bigger place. good luck. the baby shouldn't be separated from his or her siblings

I would think they would still let her have custody as long as she shows she's willing to move to a bigger place. They usually try and keep kids with family unless they absolutely can not. I wouldn't think that just having too many kids in one house would make them seperate the family.

Are the other children or this baby in an unsafe environment?(not uncomfortable environment) if so; you have a moral responsibility to step in.
If it's not to late. soc.service coordinator from the hosp. can direct you with discharge planning and community resources. If the previous children have had DCF involvement with the other children they may want to investigate this issue, have alternative living arrangements made with your sister and mother prior to discharge. If the mother tested pos. for drugs during her admission to the hosp., it is the the responsibility of the RN/MD to report it to DCF. the baby Will be tested for drugs as well. Your are in a tough spot. Stay involved, help as often as you can, and first and for most, don't be judgmental.
