Let's say my grandpa fathered a kid when I was 30. By the time I found out, the kid was already 6. Can I adopt this kid (who's my uncle)?

Yes it is quite possible, if it's a family member, and yes apparently it's your uncle, and he is only 6 then yes. you need to start with an adoption agency and might consider just going to court, and getting the right paper work signed, and then your all set to adopt! |

you would have to prove the childs mother as unfit before you can even attempt to adopt. Other than that, he is still a minor and you are still a responsible adult and family. you very well could adopt this child. good luck! |
