i have been living with them since i was six, but they never adopted me, but now they want to adopt me because of some issues.

You didn't indicate the issues, which no one really needs to know, but it concerns me as an adoptive father of two, that after all this time they have an interest in adopting you at 19 years.
You know what the issues are, so you think of what you have to gain by being adopted now. |

It's called Adult Adoption. It's abit more complicated than it should be... IMHO. |

Absolutely. It is called an adult adoption. I had a friend that did it. Her father left her and her mother when she was young. She is now very successful and has lots of money. She was always afraid of her father coming back for money. So she went through the adult adoption and had her god father adopt her when she was 28. |

of course not, well i mean you are old enough now to be an adult (it starts at eighteen), I suppose they can though...................tough question.

Well, your an adult now, so i think that if they were gonna officially adopt you they would have done so by now right! Why do you need that piece of paper to prove that you belong to them anyways, you already do. |

Yes, there are methods to be adopted at your age... and this is very common with many Foster Children who grew up with families that for one reason or another Adoption was not possible....
Good Luck and won't it just feel so nice to have this documentation that You are the Child of _________ as you have been since you were 6! |
