I know a girl that is pregnant and she hates the baby and doesnt want anything to do with it she wants to give it up for adoption and she just wants someone to take the baby as soon as she has it. She has someone in mind to be there at birth and take the baby but how can she do it legally and adopt the baby?

It's nice that you refer to the child you want to adopt as an "it".
Kinda goes to show right there what place an adopted child will take in your household. |

She can put her child in foster care. Involving an agency, or selling her baby via the want ads or "penny saver" (i.e. private adoption) would be unethical. The foster care system is set up to find the right family for the child. Any other method she might choose to give up her child is focused on finding the right CHILD for the FAMILY, which is just plain wrong.
On a side note, I truly hope she gets counseling. Giving up her baby is not a way to deal with those feelings. That child came out of her body - there has to be some connection there. Those feelings have nothing to do with the baby, and making an innocent child suffer for her feelings is horrifying. It would be far better for her to simply get counseling and keep her baby. But if she MUST give her child to strangers to raise, the only ethical way is via foster care. |

Mothers who relinquish don't have to pay any money, so I am unsure why your question mentioned it.
She should contact social services to provide much needed counseling it sounds like (why would she hate the baby?) and to research her options as far as parenting or relinquishing, and get legal aid if she chooses to place.
If she has chosen people to adopt the baby, they would need to get a homestudy and hire an attorney, but that has nothing to do with the expectant mother as yet. She shouldn't make a final decision until after the birth, and can't sign the papers until after the birth anyway. She should focus on herself and her baby's well being right now. |

Yes. She needs to find a lawyer that specializes in family law and arrange a private adoption.
I am very sorry to hear about your friend's feelings towards the child. I hope that she is able to get counseling and realize that the child is innocent and whatever valid reasons she has are not because of the baby. |

Unfortunately there is no cheap way to get a baby. Even on the black market i saw on a news program they pay 3 to 10 thousand for a baby with no papers. Sorry to say you are going to have to go through a lawyer. |

Contact an adoption attorney. Here is a website listing of all the adoption attorneys in the united states:
http://www.adoptionattorneys.com/
Your friend will still require a homestudy even though this is an identified adoption. If there is no time before the birth your friend can be granted temporary custody while the homestudy is being completed.
Start with an attorney and go from there.
Also, please make sure that the girl gets counselling -- even if she is sure about her decision. |

since this is an open adotpion there is very little paperwork involved. she will need to tell the people at the hospital about it, and it would be a good idea to hire a family lawyer to work out all the details, and defacs to make sure the new family is a good one. |

There are so many couple out there that want a baby desperately. We are infact searching for a birthmom to adopt one more little girl. we have adopted 5, 4 boys 1 girl. LDS family services is wonderful and she doesn't have to do anything but tell them she wants to place her baby. they will give her files of waiting couples. If she already has someone in mind. Have the people that are adopting the baby get an attorney. they will need one anyway and they will need a social worker to do a home study even if it is private. but it is really simple. good luck with your friend. please encourage counceling for her. |

I would love to find someone that didn't want their baby. I love children and wish I could give everyone of them a loving home.
You need to have her sign over her rights. Pretty much just takes a lawer. |
