Do asian babies have a harder time to get adopted?

Just to add my question before, I heard from my friends that usually people prefers white babies. Would asian babies have harder time to get adopted and have to be sent to foster care system first?

Not at all, email me we can talk about your baby a little bit more
I'm also asian

no. not at all. some people go all the way to China to adopt an Asian baby so if there is an American Asian baby i'm sure it has an equal chance of a white baby to get adopted.

My friend is Korean and she was adopted when she was 2 because her parents died

no way, I want a asian baby, I would adopt one in a heartbeat if I had the money.

No. Right now Americans by the droves are going to China to adopt Asian babies. If they were here, the USA, they would be placed immediately. There are so many open adoptions the babies are going directly home from the hospital with adoptive parents.

I don't think so, my husband and I want to adopt and would be ecstatic to raise a baby of any ethnicity including one of asian decent. We would consider ourselves lucky.

As an adoptive parent of a little girl from China, I would say that any of the hundreds of families who I know personally would adopt another Asian child. Not because it is what the movie stars are doing, not because we want to go to China, Vietnam, Cambodia or Korea but because we feel that our children should not see their face as that much different than the rest of the family. It's important to us as adoptive parents that our children feel like they belong. Having another "face" in the family will hopefully give them a sense of belonging. Most people who adopt a child from a specific country tend to return to that country because they want their children to share a heritage and common ground. Many request the same province within their chosen country as well to give them an even tighter bond.

Children of any ethnicity can find themselves in the foster care system. Unfortunately, there are bad, abusive, neglective parents of ALL ETHNICITIES. However, the children in foster care are not there because their birth parents could not find an adoptive home for them. The children in foster care are there because their parents either took drugs and the baby (newborn) was born drug exposed and was taken involuntarily, parents are in jail or the child has been removed involuntarily. In the state of GA all birth mothers are drug tested when they deliver a baby. If they test positive, the baby is immediately placed in foster care and will not go home with the birth family until a suitable (responsible) family placement is found or the birth parents can complete their case plan.

I doubt that. A couple from our church is heading for China the second time to adopt another baby. They love this child and all that come in contact with her feel the same.

I don't hink so. We are looking to adopt and race is not an issue for us. I really don't think many people care, that really want a child to have in their family

I know several couples trying to adopt an Asian infant domestically, and they are finding very few Asian infants are placed for adoption here in the US.

People's views on this vary greatly. Some adoptive parents only want a caucasian infant, and others do not care about the race. Reality is that many people go to China or Korea every year to adopt, so I do not believe that there is any type of concern.

One thing however, if you proceed with an adoption agency, typically you will have been matched with an adoptive family before the child is even born. You sound as if you are concerned that if you proceed with adoption and no one wants your child, they will go to foster care. If you use an agency, that shouldn't be an issue.

My suggestion is still to contact a reputable adoption agency and discuss what options are available to you. They will best be able to advise you in this situation.

Take care. Good luck to you.

No. In the adoptive families group I belong to, there are several Asian children with white parents, and one Asian couple who specifically requested an Asian baby. (One of the white couples said they were asked, after they'd adopted, at birth, a baby of Korean ancestry: Will she speak Korean?)

Nope,it is actually much easier to find homes for them!
For example, because China is so over populated, each family is only allowed to have one child. And most family's would rather have a boy for field work and things like that.So for example say one family wants a boy,but the first three times they tried for a boy all three turned out to be girls,so they would have most likely taken the girls to an adoption agency to be adopted out to a loving family.
Adoption is a beautiful thing! It is a lengthy process but a wonderful thing!

You would be able to find a great family for your baby. Call a reputable adoption agency in your area to explore the options. Don't sign anything yet - and make sure you read everything carefully before you do sign anything. They should answer all your questions. There is no reason why your baby should have to be in the foster care system.

Asian babies are so smart they can take care of themself.
