How do
a. children conceived from egg donors

all feel about the whole living with people not biologically related to them. Do they all equally feel the need to learn about their biological family.

I am a member of C. I can only speak for myself. I can say that it was pure hell not being around anyone biologically related to me. I had no bond or ties to anyone in my family. I rarely talk to anyone other than my a-mom and a-dad. I feel a great need to find my biological family, but I don't know if I'll get the chance. I have my own children now, and that makes me feel even stronger about biological ties, and their importance. |

I've been meaning to post a question like this. We all pretty much know the consequences of relinquishments.
Here's a link to website of a child born of surrogacy who has similar feelings to other adoptees, but far more so since he was created for the sole purpose of his mother adopting him.

As far as donor eggs, I assume they are carried in a pregnancy by the mother who will raise him. I have a friend whose son was conceived using a donor egg. She has no plans to ever tell him (so so so wrong!). My guess is that when her son doesn't see himself in her, maybe he'll ask questions. I imagine if he did know, he'd feel like something was missing, like other children who don't know anything about their biological mothers. |

I am part of c. and I must say it is pretty odd. One because I am not treated as a normal human, but still loved. Two, because people always, always make comments on it. It annoys the hell out of me, but what can I say? It's my life and I don't know anything else.
