"Most women are sincere in their desire to place their baby for adoption and they truly need financial help but there are some who are scammers."

It's great to see you talking about someone else for a change. I hope this means you're moving forward in your healing and taking your meds regularly.

As for your question: I strongly disagree with the statement that, "Most women are sincere in their desire to place their baby for adoption..." Why would any sane woman DESIRE to place their baby for adoption? Most want their babies right there with them, but are not able to parent for one reason or another (or more likely, they've been convinced they are not able to parent).

What a horrible blog where it is calling expectant mothers birthparents already!

Now that I have clicked further, I can truthfully state I disagree with practically everything I read. GAH!

All I can say is financial reasons were not the reason my daughter chose to place her baby for adoption.
ETA: Funny the thumbs down for stating the truth. Guess it doesn't toe the "party line" that women would keep their babies if we all offered them financial assistance. Sorry.

The women I know who lost children to adoption did not "sale" their babies and didn't need the money, coming from middle class backgrounds. They were forced to surrender, often by their families, who were more concerned about saving face than their own flesh and blood. All most needed was their parent's support for a few months until they could find a home, job and daycare for their infants, but that assistance was not provided.

Women can be rendered powerless for any number of reasons, often financial, but many other reasons as well, but then, like carrion birds, those who will exploit them will gather to pick their remains.

absolutely! we are ALL scammers, didn't you know. every time a woman changes her mind, it's because she was out to scheme some poor unsuspecting couple who just wants a baby...

seriously, if a 16 year old can scheme a couple of older, purportely more educated people, then i question these people's ability to parent.

what i find amazing is that these same mothers are "loving and selfless" when they follow the plan: breed, birth and be gone!

ETA: i *heart* the adoption coach...

What?

Please tell me this is a myth about adoption.

I heard people talk about this sort of thing going on in other countries and that's why I looked up adoption because I thought it was exaggerated. You know, media hype...

It makes the birth mother out to be ... not gonna say it its an insulting to the birth mothers...so is that blog.

(P'S my country isn't perfect either, but we're trying to get it right.)

Whats bad is it is true. A woman won't put her baby up for adoption unless she can't take care of it. That is why girls and women choose adoption instead of keeping the baby, because they just can't afford to take care of themselves and the baby too. Alot of women are against abortion, me being one, and I'm glad they choose adoption. But so many females get to the point where they are close to their due date and despite not being financially stable, they let guilt or "love" keep them from giving up the baby, which I could actually take both sides on. Anyway there are some, very few, who use the pregnancy as an opportunity to sale the baby. Yes, to sale their unborn child.....or atleast make it look that way and end up with the baby and the money sometimes. So yes, adoption does come with risks. People just have to be careful. Did you know that some people who can become foster parents actually do so to try to adopt? Because its cheaper and usually they can actually win the battle if the parents are unfit and there aren't any relatives to claim the child? Yep. So be warned about that too, okay?
