Do you guys think this is freaky?

I'm thinking this is really wierd. I get google blog alerts and news alerts on "adoption" and "adoptee rights" and I just got 1 that is actually a question from here ( yahoo answers )

1) I posted this in pregnancy but I'm posting it here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080311111528AAXRviA&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFPgTFXVucG8i60AV28rVBIgt5T3dnhS.7IFg--&paid=answered#GbFkAnH5WEV0NOoxEOIu
thats the yahoo link...and heres the link to the "other" site that has it...
http://hostbuoy.com/adoption/8380/open-question-i-posted-this-in-pregnancy-but-im-posting-it-again-here

Can anyone explain this to me?

That's weird. I think I need to learn more about RSS feeds. That makes me uncomfortable.

I also noticed that the advertising links that are on that page don't seem particularly reputable. One was for A Child's Waiting (Stephanie Bennett's agency), and one was claiming to offer Russian adoptions but they are *not* one of the agencies currently accredited by the Russian government. Blech.

The hostbuoy site blog pulls different RSS feeds. I'm pulling the adoption RSS feed for a widget I made on widgetbox. All of the question categories have RSS feeds... you can see the link on the lower left... so you can read the category in a reader, or pull it into another website.

It's feeds, you know, like Atom or RSS. Anyone can subscribe to them. The poster here at Y!A didn't even have to post it anywhere else, because feeds looking for certain type of content can pull it in without her ever knowing.

Santa's Lil' Helper
I think the feed from RSS must have been pulled with out her knowledge. I have seen this happen once before....he first time it did seem freaky but another Y!A poster explained it to me.

If you look right above the heading for that question on hostbuouy, you can see there are links to two other questions there that appear here as well.

eta: These are the links, it's not just metal momma.

I'm confused!

Whoa! That really does seem sort of strange and possibly kind of creepy to me (or maybe I'm paranoid).

It looks like one of those "search spam" sites that compiles links and uses them to get a high ranking in search engines and get paid for links and ad clicks by Google and generally mess everything up. This sort of thing unfortunately goes on a lot and probably it is just that, but this one with the other links for Adopt a Baby and with how fast it came up -- well, that seems a little suspicious to me.

ETA:
So, my suspicious mind wonders if we all are on there, or just pregnant women asking about possibly relinquishing? What exactly is the feed subscribing to? Maybe it is just trying to get a higher ranking and get paid by Google for clicks, but hmm...

LaraSue
I can't explain it because I am pretty computer illiterate, but I don't think it's necessarily freaky.

Adopted Jane
Its purely a feed via http://hostbuoy.com/

Sooooo, someone is trolling Y!A for potential babies for PAP's, and posting the questions in that forum?
That's just so desperate. And then people get upset with us for talking about corruption and coercive tactics in the adoption industry?

Sarah
Okay, why isn't anyone thinking this is freaky? This totally reeks of baby stalkers to me. Wow.

**NOT that I'm saying all AP's or PAP's are baby stalkers. But this obviously shows that some are.

**Or that they have EASY access to women considering adoption... is that more P.C. for you?

pixey03
She posted the same question else where. Either that, or she copied that question from that website and posted it as her own.

Ms. Right Now
I think she just posted it as her own. Either way it's not a freaky thing. Unless of course you are thinking of giving up a baby for adoption. or you want to adopt a child.

Maybe you're supposed to adopt her child. j/k

Not trying to be weird but sometimes things are not a coincidence
