Men and women who can naturally have a baby on their own, should they be put to the back of the que? What if couples who cannot have babies naturally lose out just because some rich chick doesn't want to lose her body. Additional Details So you think, money should come before abilty... just because someone is poor doesn't mean they will be a worse parent than the rich... says a lot about the country... poor people who can't have children, lose out to rich people who CAN.... doesn't seem right to me.

I think that people who are capable of having their own children, or people who already have children of their own should not be permitted to adopt.
That being said, I also think infertile people must go through very intensive psychological therapy before adopting. Someone else's child will not fix that pain, and it is unfair for infertile people to think that they will. We see it here tim and time again..."What about MY pain from infertility??" Its not about them. Their pain and issues need to be dealt with BEFORE they adopt.
I also think that anyone who adoptes must read "The Primal Wound" and realize that raising an adopted child is no where near raising their own bio child. |

I think untrained people with unrealistic expectations should be the last people to adopt.
We have way too many bad matches of damaged children to clueless parents.
People need to get out of line for babies and find something else to fulfill themselves with.
Remove the demand for adoptable infants and the supply will dwindle, leaving only the children that truly need replacement parents. |

I love Rosie's answer.
I think if other problems were addressed, the "problem" of supply vs. demand would be addressed.
Get rid of private, for profit adoption...many people who are dealing with infertility are looking for a healthy, white newborn for the wrong reasons.
Provide more training for foster care adoption and ensure that people understand that love is not enough. It takes skill, consistency, and a lot of hard work. It doesn't mean you don't love them, it just means that they need more than love can provide.
Most of the foster care AP's that I know in real life are not infertile, and most have biological children. Just an observation, I guess. I wonder what is different about their motives. Not saying that infertile people who adopt from foster care have nefarious motives, just saying that infertility is not the only reason people adopt from foster care, whereas I think it's more of a factor with private/for profit adoption. |

no way. every one should get an equal chance at adopting .... i think if you can naturally have kids you should still want to adopt. everyone has their reasons... |

No, it's about an individual's ability be a parent not whether they can have a child or not. This why I am glad that it's not about how rich a person is in the UK as all it costs here to adopt here is £140 which is for the court costs. |

As far as adoption goes being able to have children or even having children already has nothing to do or shouldn't have anything to do with if you can or not adopt. First come first serve first one to sign up should get it |

what is with your this type of a question. People adopt because they want children not for any other reason. Some may adopt because they can not have them but there are plenty of people who adopt who can and do have their own bio kids before they can adopt.
I read very well that you think that the only reason people who can have children but choose to adopt, do so because they are rich and don't want to ruin there bodies. neither is a reason to have children. You have kids because you want to parent. |

Is the rich chick going to give the child a better life or the people who can not have a child on their own?
Is the vain rich chick still going to be a great Mother? This question is one of who will be the better parent and nothing else. Money enough to be a better parent is a part of that equation. I doubt the body has much to do with it. |

I don't think either should be able to adopt.
Lets see:
Sandy Bullock?
Some self centered chick that doesn't want to "ruin" her body and wants another woman's baby.
Can't see much of a bond being developed there. Usually chicks like that look at adoption as charity. Not real healthy of an environment is it?.
OR
My Aps!
An ignorant infertile obese couple that spent their entire savings buying me. Yeah, what a better life. I'd rather have been poor and with my natural mother than with some physically/ financially strapped strangers "expecting" me to act like they are my Mother & Father. Real healthy huh?. Where's that better life my ignorant Aps promised?. Can't wait for the day to ditch the cows. |
