Do you think that if Mothers of the EMS/BSE speak out about their surrenders that it will change things today?

In 1967 when I lost my son, horrible things were done to women routinely by the agencies, medical personnel and society as a whole. This was possible because it was done in secret, women were broken emotionally, spiritually, psychically and physically and then were ordered to silence. There seems to be a gradual return to that with the increase of the Homes. Do you think that the Senior Mothers telling their truth and seeking justice will affect that?

I don't know who you are, but I assure you, Magic, that I did NOT report you as abusive. There is only one person that I reported and I mentioned it in my post. Whoever reported you as abusive, it wasn't me. Sorry.

Yes. The more people are speaking, the louder your voices get, and the harder it is to ignore you. The more people get defensive and insist on changing the subject, the more they call attention to the fact that no one is listening to you...which only makes your voices LOUDER, am I right? When someone doesn't listen to me, I speak louder, not quieter.

People, we're talking about first mothers here, not AP's. Focus.

only if people listen will things change. so far i see too many people turn a deaf ear to any of your or other first mom's stories...which is infuriating, because change cannot happen if people don't wake up and see the truth...

Heck yes. There are too many people discussing and speaking on your behalf (particularly about how none of you want to be found by adoptees! - I believe the NCFA is the biggest culprit for 'putting words in your mouths' for and on your behalf. Speak louder, you guys!

I would like to think so. In fact, I am seeing more and more mothers of that era speaking out. I think it is similar to the adoptee rights movement. Its been slow and hard. I will like to see that era acknowledged not just for me and my natural mother. I want it acknowledged for all of the mothers of that era.
