Does it cost more money for invitro or for adoption?
Find answers to your legal question.

Does it cost more money for invitro or for adoption?

I went to search for question but it doesn't have this one.

I am trying to figure out why adoption is so popular?

Does everybody try invitro first or do they decide on adoption or surrogacy to have a baby?

In the UK it's much more expensive to go through with invitro. It's about £2500 minimum to get treatment and that's just for one attempt - I read about people spending £10,000 to £20,000 + just to get pregnant maybe just once or twice. Adoption costs on average £140 + as it has to be done through social services or an adoption agency of which most if not all have charity status.

At a fertility clinic only a few miles from my home, a full cycle of IVF costs $9,500.

If a couple decides to go through three IVF cycles, the cost is approximately $28,500, about the same as a local adoption agency fee.

Medical insurance also plays a part. Some cover infertility treatments, some don't.

So IVF can be less expensive if it's successful on the first or second try or it's covered by medical insurance. But it can be more expensive if it takes longer or isn't covered by insurance.

No, not everybody tries IVF. We didn't. We were diagnosed with infertility in 1992, decided not to pursue fertility treatments and started the adoption process in 1997.

Adopting children through foster care is virtually free. Those are the kids that NEED homes and loving families. So there you go. Adoption is less expensive.

The most reliable information I have heard suggests that invitro would cost about $10,000-$15,000, with $12,400 being the literal average-- which would be within the lower end of the average range of private domestic adoption costs. However, comparing it to adoption is somewhat complicated because invitro may not result in pregnancy on the first cycle, and if it has to be repeated, obviously the costs will repeat too. At the same time, though, insurance may cover some of the costs related to invitro. In general, it appears that invitro would be approximately comparable in expense to private agency newborn adoption-- while there would be some cost variations, it wouldn't be dramatically more or less expensive.

Not everyone who experiences infertility pursues invitro, for a number of reasons. Depending on the cause and nature of the fertility problems, invitro might not physically be an option. Invitro is an invasive medical procedure that is hard on the woman's body, and many people do not consider it "natural" or healthy. Also it carries a high risk of miscarriage or non-implantation, and a couple who has already struggled emotionally with fertility problems may not feel psychologically able to handle miscarriage or a failed cycle. Some religions prohibit IVF. Some people don't believe in using drastic means to produce a child when there are already many children who need homes, but may not realize that it is not healthy newborns who are going without permanent living situations. And so on.

Basically, there are a LOT of reasons a couple might choose adoption and never try invitro. But I would suspect that for the vast majority, the reasons are not financial, as the costs are likely to be similar.

invitro costs about 15,000
adoption costs very from state to state and country to country but korea for example is around 30,000.

I don't think adoption is more popular, but it's more confusing because there isn't a clinic you can go to and have all of your questions answered.

Also, there are religious questions in regards to fertilized eggs that are not implanted, that cause some people to shy away.

And finally there is an issue with success rates, adoption success rates are a lot higher.

Well i think they both are expensive and adoption is based on your income, u have to make a certain amount and invitro i heard ranges from 10,000 and up, I'm not positive on either but that's what i've heard. I would try adopting first.

well adoption does cost way more tan invitro but adoption is more popular because there are children that needs homes and there is alot of support.

Adoption is a great cause to support. However, you can also file it in your taxes and recieve funds back.
I think a lot of people choose invitro if they are set on becoming pregnant themselves- there is also a higher chance of multiples based on how many eggs are planted.
