Normally it does matter because you will need to go through a home study and the social worker will want some history between you as a married couple. That could be beneficial to everyone, including the baby because you will be better prepared and will know more about yourselves as a couple which will make you better parents. I would say that you should give yourself a year of marriage prior to beginning the adoption process. |

It depends which agency county even state, if one doesnt accept you another one will, yes i do agree that a relationship should be strong before considering adoption, i dont think that there is any set time limit. |

I dont think the length of your marriage matters but someone will come to asess both of you on your backgrounds, childhoods and to see how strong you are as a couple and that you are suitable as adoptive parents.

I would make sure you have been together for a while. Most adoption agencies just want to make sure that the home life is stable to find the best home for the child to be adopted. |

It depends on where you are adopting from. While I am unsure of domestic adoption some countries do have number of divorces and minimum years married to adopt internationally. Sometimes it is two years married and other require 4 or 5 years. |

yes, some agencies have restrictions.
I know because we looked into it and were turned away from an agency.
