Dont know what more i can do?

i signed my right over for my two older children in 2003. the family that has them told me that when everything was all said and done i would get info from tehm about the kids and pics. but now i hear nothing from them they wont return calls they wont do anything they said they were going to. i feel they think some way i am going to take away their kids. something i would never do because i made a good choice at the time and could not care for them. nore could i now. so how can i get them to understand i just would like to know they r happy??

I doubt they are afraid you can take the kids, b/c you can't. You have no rights to the children. They are the parents, they may feel you should not be a part of their life. It is their choice now. You need to show them you are a positive person doing the right things ( if you are) and hope they let you in.

Also I just looked at your profile, they must think you are trash. I would not let anyone that puts things like that on the internet around my children either. All they need to do is print that and bring it to court, it speaks of your character.

Its unfortunate but I really don't think there is anything that can be done. As you said, you signed away your rights in 2003 and therefore, legally, you have no rights to any info regardless of what was said at the time. Morally, thats a different story but legally I don't think that there is anything that can be done. What you have is a verbal contract to provide info and as any lawyer will tell you, it's not worth the paper it's written on.

That's very unfortunate. Is there any way you can seek legal advice about your rights? Failing that I would suggest contacting them somehow and telling what you have told us, that you simply wish to know how they are and that they are ok. Really they shouldn't have to be asked about that, it's very selfish of them not to let you know about your kids.

i am so sorry for your situation and i commend you on doing what you did and giving your children the opportunity to have a loving home w/ parents that could provide for them.
we, of course, don't know what could be going through their minds other than maybe they feel threatened. i know that's how i would feel if say i had adopted my son and his mother was now asking for an update on him and pictures.
