Private adoption was good for us, because we got to know the 1st parents, have a relationship with them, which is open today (although it's mainly his dad that visits). We got to look each other in the eye, and know in our hearts that the decision was good for all of us, mainly for our son.

I suggest you do your own work and at least read through some of the many, many other answers here in the same subject. Thats probably your best way to learn.

Seems like you waited to long to do your homework. You should have picked a question you knew more about, I guess, or started this project earlier.

Private adoption may be good for the Adoptive Parents in many cases but from experience - there is little help after for the parent who released the child - at least in Canada. It is the agency that profits from people adopting. Many adoptions are not working well for the child and there isn't the bonding or there is active abuse.

My child is now a teenager and I haven't held her or heard her voice for almost 2 decades. It is best for a natural mother to stay with her child if at all possible. There is so much trauma for both the mother and child for many years to come. There is now a law in Canada that adoptees can have open files because many children wanted to find out about their background and why they were released for adoption. There is also a no contact order if a parent chooses to not see the child that was released.

I can't wait until I see her. I have been praying for years that God would hear my cry and that I would be able to be in her life. I pray also that she forgive me for any pain I have caused her and that God would heal her broken and abandoned heart. I believe that I made the right decision at the time, but now I wished that I would have been well enough to raise her myself. It will be a blessed reunion when I see her. I love her - but had no support and was ill.

Private adoption is illegal in most civilized countries due to ethical concerns and the potential for corruption when money is involved.

However, it continues to be a thriving self-regulating business in the USA.
