im just wondering if anyone knows how to go about finding birth parents but for free as i am really strapped for cash

In what state were you adopted? The laws are different in each state as to what information is readily available to you. Do you have any information at all at this point?

You will want to sign up with the International Soundex Reunion Registry at http://isrr.net. However, depending on the state in which you were adopted, you may be able to get information that can help move things along faster.
